The two are able to track down Lunarre, the fox hellion, and do battle with him, only to be overpowered. Once they enter the city, Sorey and Mikleo are overwhelmed by the sight of so many humans. During this time, Sorey meets Rose, one of its members. On the bridge to Ladylake, Sorey meets the Sparrowfeathers merchant guild, who are forced to momentarily block the path due to wagon repairs. The two journey to the city of Ladylake where their fates would change forever. Worried for Alisha, Sorey and Mikleo leave the village in the dead of night to catch up to her and warn her of the threat on her life. However, after Alisha leaves, a mysterious fox-like hellion assassin arrives looking for her, killing the seraph Mason in the process, but is driven out by the other seraphim. They bring her back to Elysia, despite having been taught to avoid humans, and help her get back on her feet so that she can travel home. It is during one of his explorations into nearby ruins that he and Mikleo encounter a knight named Alisha Diphda, the first human Sorey has ever seen, unconscious in the middle of the temple.

He and Mikleo grew up with a love for archeology, studying old ruins and legends, especially those contained in the Celestial Record. Despite being the only human within the village, Sorey was carefully raised alongside Mikleo for 17 years. Sorey's mother, Selene, was killed during the Dawn of Chaos immediately following his birth, and Sorey was taken in by the seraph Zenrus who brought him to the village of Elysia.
